

A leading multi-industry corporation with 68,000 employees hired Buck Consultants to handle communication for an ambitious roll out of an outsourced consumer-directed health care (CDHC) program that would replace 152 plans and 38 administrators.
Buck helped to minimize disruption and union activity by identifying “champions” who grasped the benefits of CDHC, created a persuasive branding campaign, developed effective educational materials, and conducted more than 400 enrollment meetings.
A second phase included the expansion of online tools, a comprehensive employee evaluation, and ongoing message reinforcement about CDHC. Post-enrollment survey results showed 83 percent understood the reasons for the change, and 82 percent had a better understanding of how their benefits work.
